Uberights has introduced a new report delivery service in Japan

In Japan, robots will now deliver food through Uber Eats, making Japan the first international market to make robot delivery available on the Uber Eats platform.

Uber Eats has announced a partnership with Mitsubishi Electric and robotics company Kartkin to deliver online food in Japan, according to the global news agency.Uber, along with its partners, will launch autonomous sidewalk robots that will start delivering food orders in parts of Tokyo by next month (i.e. March).

The report added that this would make Japan the first international market for autonomous delivery to be available on the Uber Eats platform. Uber Eats is already working on robot food delivery in a few cities in the United States.

Cartcon’s Model C robot, which was founded in 2019 by former Google employees in Oakland, California, will be used for delivery services in Japan, the report added.

The Model C robot uses artificial intelligence to navigate its surroundings and can reach human walking speeds.
